Making his debut in 2002 , Germaine ”Mafia McKoy” Clarke aka The Blaqk Sheep hit the industry with the Chrome Riddim on tha South block iconz label which produced 4 #1 songs for artists Sizzla (“That’s Ok”), Capleton (“In Her Heart”), Elephant Man (“Keep it Jiggy”), and Vybz Kartel (“Little Lady”). In 2002, Blaqk sheep opened his own record label, Loud Disturbance Records, which allowed him to work with most major artists including Gyptian, Beenie Man, Busy Signal, Gappy Ranks, Lady Saw and more. Additional #1’s include from busy signal such as ” da style deh, up inna har belly, nah ansa, decide fi ansa,Burial Spot , Praise and Worship” and ”any gal cant wine” by R.D.X, Not limited to Jamaica, Blaqk sheep’s music has topped charts in Canada and throughout Europe where his productions have spent months on the BBC charts. Chart topping productions include the Silent Sky Riddim, Dinkimini riddim, Kamasutra Riddim, 50 Pound Riddim and the recently released Yengeh Riddim & Too Much Bull a single which features Macka diamond,Mystic, Mad Michelle, Mumzel, Queen Latisha & Zj Sparks.
Expanding the Loud Disturbance Records catalog, Blaqk sheep has recorded with veteran artists such as Lincoln ‘Sugar’ Minott, Admiral Tibett and Yellowman earning him the respect of the senior members of the Dancehall and Reggae fraternity as well as the younger generations. Blaqk sheep also makes time to regularly work as a writer, producer and engineer, and develops new talent from contestants of the Caribbean’s #1 music competition, Digicel Rising Stars.
Unafraid to explore different sounds, Blaqk sheep’s embrace of African rhythms and seemingly non popular sounds have allowed him the opportunity to produce music for record labels and artists around the world.
